Welcome To Ken Smith, Ministries

" Serve Him Well in 2014"

A Quote From George McCloud

"I simply argue that the cross be raised in the middle of the marketplace. For Jesus was not crucified in a church between two candles but on a cross between two thieves. A place so cosmopolitan they had to write his name in 3 languages: Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic. ( we could say Spanish, Arabic and English today).
It was the town garbage heap. Where thieves cursed, cynics hurled insults, soldiers gambled. That is where he chose to die and those are the people he chose to die for ... and that is where the church needs to be and those are the people we ought to care for as well. " George McCloud

Ken Smith's Ministries exist to encourage Christians in their journeys and to tell the story of Jesus in an exciting way! For over 20 years now Ken has proclaimed a living Christ in conferences, rallies and in youth camps and mens events. Still at it; Ken's desire is that every person he encounters will know Christ and be on a journey of faith that makes them a "living" Bible - a minister in their market place.

Ministry update April 1
I am writing this March 29 in Brookhaven Ms. Maybe today was the best culmination I could ask for the end of March. Obviously, I have been doing this for a long time and I am a notorious optimist. But when you are 70 and almost 71 you gave done a lot of preaching in a lot of venues. But here me say this has been an awesome month.
Greenville Baptist is one of the churches I have had a long time relationship. This year may have been the best. A coach and wives appreciation Steak dinner was Friday night. Then on Saturday a men's prayer breakfast to pray for a wild game dinner that night. Over 200 men and we saw several come to Christ. Sunday was a great day as well.
Monday drove to Tampa for a men's night out at Idlewild Baptist. It was a wow night as well. Then the Cove from Thursday to Sunday morning. Packed with men God was very good. I spent the weekend with Jim Needs, a college friend and shared preaching with Michael Catt( creator of Facing Giants, Fireproof, etc). Man a great weekend.
Today I was part of a prayer walk with FBC Brookhaven . I think I was as moved by the response and faithfulness of the people. I will preach tomorrow and fly home Monday to spend a week spoiling grand kids.
Still struggling with the churches that make life miserable for pastors. Why call a guy and not follow his leadership. Just don't get it. I think I need to find a way to educate layman to become encouragers rather than critics!
